An evening with two pianos
During the late eighties and the nineties we produced several concerts with the wonderful two-piano group of Hank Jones and Tommy Flanagan. The music is well documented in the album “Live in Marciac 1993”, on Groovin’ High Records.
Later, we featured the combined talents of Mulgrew Miller and Kenny Barron, which resulted in 50+ concerts throughout Europe.
This unit grew with the addition of Eric Reed and Benny Green, and we can now offer numerous other combinations, including the talents of young prodigies Tamir Hendelman and Gerald Clayton.
This amazing show, which can be presented 100% acoustic, without any amplification, features four generations of pianists exchanging ideas on two grand pianos, including solo, duo and quartet sections.
For the 2012 season, the ensemble will perform MOSTLY MONK, a program in tribute to The High Priest of Be-Bop, Thelonious Monk (1917-1982).
