International JAZZ PRODUCTIONS is the trade name of independent jazz producer Jordi Suñol.
A devoted Jazz fan since childhood, Jordi started cooperating in the organization of concerts in the late sixties, during his formative years as a student at the Polytechnic and Business schools in his native Barcelona. During this period he had the privilege of working with genius musicians like Duke Ellington, Coleman Hawkins, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie or Oscar Peterson, and learned from legendary producers like Norman Granz or George Wein.
Jordi first started organizing concerts and Festivals in Spain in the mid seventies, and by the early eighties created JAZZ PRODUCTIONS to book European tours for noted american jazz musicians.
During the past thirty years JAZZ PRODUCTIONS has organized tours of Europe for classic jazzmen like Milt Jackson, Hank Jones, Phil Woods, Tommy Flanagan, Benny Carter or Clark Terry, and has also introduced many new artists like Roy Hargrove, Jesse Davis, Harry Allen, Nicholas Payton, Eric Alexander, Mulgrew Miller, Benny Green, Eric Reed, Terell Stafford, Cyrus Chestnut and many others.
JAZZ PRODUCTIONS has also created its own exclusive projects, like the JAM SESSION eseries (revisiting the classic JATP concerts), the TRUMPET SUMMIT BAND (featuring a real “who’s who” on jazz trumpet) and AN EVENING WITH TWO PIANOS (originally with Tommy Flanagan and Hank Jones, later with Kenny Barron, Mulgrew Miller, Benny Green and Eric Reed).
